Easter Decorating Ideas-Experimenting Paint Colors
Architect and TV presenter George Clarke have provided some great tips on getting a natural look for home improvements and natural paint colors over the Easter holiday .
Clarke, a host in The Home Show of Channel 4, mentioned that when you want to decorate your home walls, it is essential that you remove existing wallpapers rather than pasting new layers on top. This will allow home owners to check the condition of their plastering and if necessary, have local tradesmen carry out “skimming”.
“If you are scared to have too much colour in a room, keep it simple and paint the walls white. Your personal pictures and belongings can add all the colour you need,” he commented.
Further, Faith Carpenter, a color expert with Diamond Vogel, says the that last few seasons the trend has been to paint with dark, rich, subdued colors and simple neutrals.
Color is very closely tied to moods, like…”unsure, unstable, waiting for the next shoe to drop.”
With the onset of spring and possible signs of economic recovery, the color forecast is changing.
One color trend this season that might surprise you, is orange, with a range of colors like monarch wing and citrus sorbet.
“The orange palette goes dark and it goes light, with warm and cool color palettes.”
If you’re looking to make some life changes, Faith says you might want to start with the colors that surround you.
“When you paint a wall or a room, with a color that gives you the good feelings and the optimism, security and happy feelings, it really energizes the room and it makes you feel good when you’re in that room.”
And economically speaking, it’s a relatively inexpensive and impactful improvement project.
